The Andhra Pradesh government has accorded administrative sanction for ₹760 crore for the construction of the Amaravati Sangamam, comprising the A.P. State Public Library, Archives, Auditorium and Global Institute of Good Governance (GIGG), at Sakhamuru in Amaravati. The project will be taken up through an item-rate contract or EPC Mode-2, according to G.O. Rt. No. 1115 issued by S. Suresh Kumar, Principal Secretary, Municipal Administration and Urban Development (CRDA) Department, on September 7, 2026.

The sanction follows a resolution approved at the meeting of the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) on August 27. The Authority had approved inviting tenders for the project and authorised the Managing Director of the Amaravati Growth and Infrastructure Corporation Limited (AGICL), in coordination with the APCRDA Commissioner, to take further action.

The total funding commitment of ₹760 crore will be shared by three agencies. The Department of Public Libraries will contribute ₹310 crore, the A.P. Human Resources Development Institute ₹278 crore and the APCRDA ₹172 crore. The APCRDA share includes an additional ₹4.80 crore beyond its 35% share of the Department of Public Libraries’ contribution.

Any future cost escalation will be shared according to the benefit derived by the participating agencies, subject to applicable approvals and financial rules. Additional works will constitute fresh financial commitments.
