The internet’s worst kept secret, the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake, finally has a reveal date with Ubisoft set to officially lift the lid on its reimagined pirate simulator.
The rumoured Black Flag remake has seen years of leaks and rumours, resulting in most gamers and their mothers knowing that the project was in the works. Ubisoft let the cat out of the bag itself in a blog post earlier this year, and it’s now ready to show the world exactly what it’s been working on for all these years.
Given that Black Flag is arguably one of the least ‘Assassin’s Creed’ games in the series, it undoubtedly remains one of the most popular. In the ten years since its launch, Black Flag sold over 34 million copies worldwide, indicating that there’s certainly appetite for a modern revisit.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced reveal date and time
Ubisoft will showcase Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced in a video showcase at 5pm BST on April 23, 2026 . That’s Thursday this week.
Gamers can watch the reveal livestream on Ubisoft’s official social channels with YouTube likely your best bet to catch the action.
You can find the livestream embedded below:
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag is a bit of a departure from the traditional AC formula, following the scruffy miscreant of Edward Kenway as he attempts to make a life for himself as a pirate in the 1700s caribbean.
Although Assassins and Templars remain integral to the main plot, the game was seen much more as a fantastic pirate story in its own right. A lot of that was largely down to the ship combat mechanics that Ubisoft iterated upon from Assassin’s Creed 3.
This wasn’t the last time Ubisoft would try to deliver on the pirate fantasy with 2024’s Skull and Bones also utilising the same mechanics in its live service affair. However, that game failed to find its audience and left gamers wanting for something that harkened back to the sort of experience Black Flag offered in 2013.
Black Flag Resynced is thought to be a full remake from the ground up, so it will be exciting to find out on Thursday how Ubisoft has modernised this beloved adventure for modern consoles.
