Caroline Dubois takes on Terri Harper tonight but no longer speaks to her dad and her brother, former heavyweight world champion Daniel

Caroline Dubois is thriving after a bitter feud split her family in two.

She and brother Daniel became world champions within six months of each other after being raised by disciplinarian father Stan. But their parallel stories came to an abrupt end when Caroline fled the nest and forged her own path. Her dad bizarrely claimed he doesn't support women who box - something his daughter firmly disputes.

Instead, she believes he is aggrieved at her desire to blaze her own trail. Dubois, 24, remained faithful to trainer Shane McGuigan when Daniel quit the son-of-a-legend’s gym. And she moved out of the family home to seek her independence - and hasn't spoken to her dad or brother since.

British boxer Derek Chisora will face American Deontay Wilder at London's O2 Arena on Saturday, April 4.

Fans can order the fight for £24.99 with DAZN pay-per-view or get it free with the new DAZN Ultimate Tier.

And Dubois said: "I'm not worried about having regrets. I feel very happy, blessed and content. I'm in a very good place and I'm excited about what the future holds for me. It's a good position to be in where you're just happy with where you're at and that whatever tomorrow brings you'll feel okay about it; you won't feel put down or held back.

"I have the space to mature now and I’ve grown up. A happy fighter is a dangerous fighter and I'm a lot happier and more comfortable with where I am." Dubois is one of seven who share a mother and father and now lives with accountant brother Prince and beautician sister Yash.

And she added: "They're the smart ones - they're not in boxing! We all have each other's backs and we call ourselves the three musketeers; we are all for one and one for all. I genuinely believe I wouldn't be where I am without them. We all play the mother figure, and we pick who's going to play which role.

"But I haven't been able to take the tantrum days; because I'm the older one, those days get cut out for me! The younger ones get to play the spoiled brats but I don't get those rules."

Dubois made her American debut last year on the undercard of Anthony Joshua's demolition of Jake Paul. She is part of Paul's burgeoning female stable and will put her lightweight belt on the line against British rival Terri Harper tonight. And she said: "I got into boxing thinking either the sport would change or that I would be the one to change it.

"I believe where we're headed is something that was always going to happen; you can't keep women out of the sport. It only takes one person to change the sport and I always believed I would be that person, or be running behind the women who were, and I think that's the case."
