Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy inaugurated ‘Duddilla Sripada Rao Central Hall’ at the Telangana Legislative Assembly premises in Hyderabad on Monday (September 7, 2026), in the presence of Legislative Council Chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy and Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar.

Several Ministers, MLAs and MLCs attended the inaugural event. The Central Hall has been named after former Assembly Speaker Duddilla Sripada Rao, who is the father of IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu. Mr. Reddy also interacted with several legislators and leaders at the newly inaugurated facility.

In a social media post, the Chief Minister said he was privileged to inaugurate the Central Hall and expressed confidence that it would become an enduring symbol of Telangana’s democratic values and legislative traditions.

He said the hall, inspired by the rich traditions of parliamentary democracy, would provide a dignified space for members of the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council to meet, exchange ideas and participate in important legislative and ceremonial occasions.

Mr. Revanth Reddy had earlier indicated that he wants the Assembly to have a Central Hall on the lines of the Parliament, and the idea struck him when he was a member of Parliament from 2019 to 2023. He felt that the Central Hall provided a democratic space for the ruling and Opposition members to have a discussion and dialogue. This was mandatory to strengthen the State’s commitment to democratic and legislative traditions.
