The Crow Girl season two is almost here and it's set to be another "chilling" watch.

The Crow Girl is returning for a second series and it's set to get even "darker".

Paramount Plus unveiled the official trailer for The Crow Girl series two this morning, Thursday, July 2, as the bestselling adaptation continues from where it previously concluded.

Following that jaw-dropping series finale, the second instalment will witness DCI Jeanette Kilburn (played by Eve Myles) as her "hunt for the killers of young male asylum seekers take a shocking new turn".

The official synopsis continues to reveal that she will uncover a "mummified body in a church wall and a body in a freezer" which prove to have a "chilling connection".

At the same time, Dr Sophia Craven (Katherine Kelly) begins to harbour suspicions that her enigmatic former patient Victoria Burkeman might be behind it all.

Yet the investigation places both Jeannette and Sophia's trust and judgement under immense pressure as their relationship grows "increasingly complex and emotionally charged".

The official synopsis adds: "With the investigation growing darker, Sophia suspects Victoria is closer to the truth than she thought, leading them into a disturbing web of historic abuse and buried truths."

"With time running out, Jeanette must face the terrifying truth: the killer may be closer than she ever imagined."

There's not much longer to wait now as The Crow Girl series two will arrive on Paramount Plus on Monday, July 20.

The series will comprise six one-hour episodes, with instalments dropping onto the streaming platform weekly until the finale, which is expected to land on Monday, August 24.

In the season two trailer, Sophia is seen discussing "blackouts" linked to her Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), as she and Victoria are, in fact, the same person.

Viewers were left stunned to discover that Sophia, who is essentially an alternate personality of Victoria, was responsible for the murders of Ben Burkeman (Michael Lumsden) and Carl Lowry (Trevor White) in the first series - but will the killing spree continue in the new series?

The Crow Girl season two premieres on Monday, July 20, on Paramount Plus.
