Upon learning Albertans, in landslide numbers, have voted to remain in Canada after Monday night’s provincial referendum question ballot, the NDP have responded. Party leader Avi Lewis, joined by NDP Parliamentary leader Don Davies, said he was “truly heartened” with the result – which he called a “clear rejection of the politics of division.” “Well over a million Albertans came together to give us something all too rare these days, a moment of hope,” Lewis told reporters. Furthermore, Lewis called the referendum “unnecessary,” hinting it was not worth the $130 million cost, before criticizing Alberta Premier Danielle Smith – who called for the province-wide vote earlier in the year – claiming her career “has been defined by a slow walk towards separation.” For more info, please go to https://globalnews.ca/news/12108827/alberta-referendum-result/ Subscribe to Global News Channel HERE: http://bit.ly/20fcXDc Follow Global News on X HERE: http://bit.ly/1Toz8mt Follow Global News on TikTok HERE: https://www.tiktok.com/@globalnews.ca?lang=en #GlobalNews #AlbertaReferendum #NDP
