There is a lot still to be decided in the closing hours of the summer window, with Manchester City set to spend big on Iliman Ndiaye and Enzo Fernandez, while there could still be movement at Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham.

11:00 – Sunderland hijack Fofana deal

In a surprise move, Sunderland are closing in on a deal for Malick Fofana from Lyon.

Arsenal had been in talks for the player, but he is set to join the Black Cats instead.

10:41 – Ansah joins Hull

Ilyas Ansah has joined Hull from Bundesliga side Union Berlin.

The German striker joins on a five-year deal, with the Premier League club forking out nearly £20m.

10:37 – Souza joins Porto from Spurs

Tottenham have announced that left-back Souza has joined Porto on loan for the season.

10:07 – Chelsea confirm Guiu exit

Chelsea’s Marc Guiu has joined RB Leipzig on a permanent deal after two years at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues will get a fee of nearly £15m for the youngster.

09:45 – Woltemade to join Juventus on loan

Nick Woltemade will become the latest player to make the switch from the Premier League to Serie A.

He is joining Juventus on loan from Newcastle.

Liverpool midfielder Stefan Bajcetic has joined Celta Vigo five years after leaving the Spanish side to join the Reds.

Everton defender Nathan Patterson is in talks with Torino over a move to Serie A.

As it stands, the Scotsman’s departure would leave Vitaly Mykolenko as the only senior full-back at Everton.

08:42 – Fernandez talks underway

The potential big deal of the day would see Enzo Fernandez join Manchester City from Chelsea. Talks are underway between the two clubs to see if an agreement can be struck.

08:22 – Nwaneri set for Dortmund

Ethan Nwaneri is joining Borussia Dortmund on loan from Arsenal. Mikel Arteta has given the green light for the youngster to undergo his medical in Germany and gain more minutes than he would have at the Premier League champions this season.

08:09 – Danso to join Sunderland

Tottenham defender Kevin Danso is set to join Sunderland on loan, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Austrian centre-back is travelling for his medical this morning.

Here we go then, transfer deadline day is well and truly up and running. Expect to see lots of deals done today across the Premier League.

When does the summer transfer window 2026 close?

The window opened on Monday June 15 and will shut on Tuesday September 1.

After that, every Premier League club can register a squad of up to 25 players, 17 of whom are allowed to be non-Home Grown Players.

A Home Grown Player has been registered with any club affiliated to the English or Welsh Football Association for three entire seasons or 36 months across their career before his 21st birthday, or the end of the season during which they turn 21.

Under-21 players do not count towards the 25-man limit.

What time does the Premier League transfer window shut on transfer deadline day?

The deadline is 23:00 BST in the Premier League, but clubs can have an extra two hours to file the remaining documentation if they submit a deal sheet confirming that an agreement has been reached.

The deal sheet must arrive fully completed before the transfer window closes.

For international transfers, clubs also have to comply with the FIFA Transfer Matching System deadline of midnight.
