Logos Eudae G2
Made in Taiwan / $1,450 at Logos Components
The new Logos Eudae G2 wheelset builds on what earned its predecessor our 2022 Bikepacking Gear of the Year award, shedding 80 grams while maintaining the brand’s focus on performance, durability, and long-term serviceability. Weighing just 1,485 grams, the trail-rated wheelset pairs a revised carbon rim layup with Logos’ second-generation arché|os SL Boost hubs, which feature a dual-spring 36-tooth star ratchet. Other notable features include a 31mm internal-width asymmetric carbon rim with individually reinforced spoke holes and offset drilling to balance spoke tension, 28 Sapim CX-Ray bladed spokes laced three-cross with external brass nipples, and bead-lock rim profiles. Available with either 6-bolt or Center Lock rotor compatibility, the Eudae G2 ships with tubeless tape and valves pre-installed and is designed to balance lightweight XC performance with the durability needed for trail riding and bikepacking.

Coming Next Spring: MSR FreeLite Stash Tents
Made in China / $440+
Teased at the Switchback Tradeshow last month, the upcoming FreeLite Stash tent lineup from MSR looks like a worthwhile option for anyone looking to shave grams and reduce their kit size. The idea was to bring the compact pole size used in their bikepacking tents to a broader audience, making it suitable for kayaking, backpacking, and other outdoor activities. The FreeLite Stash will be available in one-, two-, and three-person models, with minimum weights starting at just 1 pound, 14 ounces. Stay tuned for more.

Wish We Were Here
Shedding a little light on a route one of us is dreaming about riding at the moment…
Lucas Winzenburg: Caldera 500, California
Every now and again, I find myself returning to our Caldera 500 guide and Evan Christenson’s excellent piece about photographing the route in the ninth issue of The Bikepacking Journal. Something about the region and the idea of connecting five rugged mountain ranges in the Eastern Sierra speaks to me. Although it would be blazing-hot now, it’s on my list for a future fall getaway.
