In short:

Hannah Green has won the Women's Australian Open by one shot in Adelaide.

Green is the first Australian to win the tournament since Karrie Webb in 2014.

Agathe Laisné and Cassie Porter shared second place.

Hannah Green says her nerves were frayed during her one-stroke victory at the Women's Australian Open in Adelaide.

Green finished the tournament 11-under-par, having survived late charges from France's Agathe Laisné and emerging Australian Cassie Porter at Kooyonga Golf Club.

She is the first Australian since the legendary Karrie Webb in 2014 to lift the Open trophy.

Green's victory came a fortnight after she triumphed at the Women's World Championship for a second time in Singapore.

"I like to make it really nerve-racking for myself and everyone watching," Green said after producing a 2-under 70 in her final round.

"It was tough. I felt like I was hitting the clubs that I needed to hit, but it wasn't, perhaps, actually going near the hole, so it was frustrating.

"And I knew that people could come from behind today … just really happy to have my name on the trophy amongst all the amazing other winners."

Porter tied for second place alongside Laisné, having fired a flawless course-record 10-under 62 on Sunday.

Her round featured 10 birdies in a stunning 15-hole stretch.

"I know [all] professional golfers and amateur golfers, and everyone that just plays golf dreams of a day that everything just works," Porter said.

"I'm very fortunate that today was that day."

Green's fellow major winners Minjee Lee and Grace Kim struggled across the four days in Adelaide.

Lee signed for a 1-under 71 to finish 3-over for the tournament, while Kim made belated ground on Sunday with a 5-under 67.

Kim shared 10th place on 3-under across 72 holes.
