Holly Willoughby has admitted she was "jealous" of Katherine Ryan when she found out the comedian was pregnant last year. Willoughby, who is already mum to three children, told Ryan that the news made her wish she had another baby.
Ryan, 43, and Willoughby, 45, had their chat on the second episode of the former ITV star's new Youtube series, Together. Willoughby told the comedian that she felt the "ship has now sailed" on having a fourth child, and was saddened by the fact.
She said: "When I heard you were pregnant and having another one, I was like, 'Maybe I should, maybe I should' I was so jealous that you were doing it because I was like, 'I should have done it.'"
Ryan gave birth to her daughter Holland in October 2025. She is also the mother of Fenna, three, Fred, five, and Violet, 17. Meanwhile Willoughby is mother to Chester, 11, Belle, 15 and Harry, 17.
Willoughby also shared with Ryan how she was affected by her children becoming teenagers. "'I feel the pulling away and I find it really hard, I find that bit really, really difficult.
"My kids are like the best thing that I've done, they're the best thing, I just look at them and I go, 'Well done.' They are pretty brilliant, but they are now getting teenagery and I'm like okay you're going to go and have a life without me."
Willoughby's new show is her return to the spotlight after leaving her position on This Morning. She had been hosting it for several years alongside Phillip Schofield, but left after she was the victim of a kidnapping plot.
Schofield's exit came five months earlier, after it was revealed that he had lied about a relationship with a much younger colleague. Willoughby seemed to allude to her former friend during a discussion on cancel culture, where she said: "It's like a really horrendous game of pass the parcel.
"You're waiting for it to land on you but instead of opening it up and it being a present you open it up and it's someone's s*** in your hands."
Though her new show has already proven to allow Willoughby to be much more open than she was on This Morning, she admitted that she was still "terrified" to share her opinions. "I definitely don't like upsetting anybody, I think I've always been like that," she said.
"I do think that the nature of what I do, you like to see both sides of anything, of any argument and then what happens is you don't end up really having an opinion on anything as you see both sides of everything. Which is tricky. And also I think I'm probably so terrified to say anything wrong because if you get it wrong the backlash is so huge, right?"
