After the VMAs, she drew attention to the amusing photobomb by posting the image of herself enthusiastically eating behind Harry. Her caption simply read: ‘Me and Harry’.
Unexpected photobomb: Iggy Azalea tucked into food behind Harry Styles, Ed Sheeran, Ellie Goulding and Rita Ora at the VMAs
Harry was posing with Ed Sheeran, Rita Ora and Ellie Goulding, while Iggy could be seen behind them, bent over a cardboard tray and eating buffalo wings without realizing she had entered the shot.
The pair appeared to have struck up a friendship during the evening, with Harry later tweeting: ‘@IGGYAZALEA should've won last night..’
Delighted by the message from the curly-haired heartthrob, Iggy retweeted it and replied: ‘Thanks Harry! Congrats on your award!’
Captured in the background: Iggy joked about appearing in the photograph by sharing it with the caption ‘Me and Harry’
Sweet treat: Adam Lambert photographed Iggy enjoying a slice of cake later that night
She also made sure her followers knew exactly what she had been eating, writing: ‘FYI that hand feeding me buffalo wings in the picture is nadias.’
The long ceremony seemed to leave Iggy hungry, and she was later photographed enjoying a slice of red velvet cake.
Adam Lambert shared the image of the singer, captioning it: ‘Red velvet diva @iggyazalea I had to snap a shot…’
Daring style: The Australian rapper appeared to wear very little beneath her sheer dress
Iggy arrived at the ceremony in a transparent gold dress, with a patterned bird design strategically positioned to provide coverage.
The edgy 23-year-old appeared to be wearing little underneath the outfit, possibly just a skin-colored thong.
The floor-length, sleeveless gown was paired with gold stilettos.
She kept her blonde hair simple, slicking it back into a low bun so the dress remained the focus.
Confident entrance: The 23-year-old made a bold appearance in New York
Golden girl: Iggy happily posed in the revealing ensemble
Her beauty look featured deep red lipstick, subtly winged eyeliner and a smooth, porcelain-like complexion.
Although the rapper attracted plenty of attention on the red carpet, she did not win over enough voters to take home an award.
Iggy was nominated for Artist To Watch but lost the honor to pop singer Austin Mahone.
Outfit change: Iggy later sat beside Rita Ora in a similar black dress
Earlier, a fan had asked how she was feeling ahead of the ceremony, and the star replied that she was ‘sleepy and nervous.’
After changing outfits soon after arriving at the awards, she maintained a brave face despite missing out on the prize.
She still enjoyed a moment in the spotlight, presenting an award alongside Lil Kim, a rapper known for her equally daring style.

Rapper reunion: Iggy shared the stage with one of her idols, Lil Kim
Iggy, whose birth name is Amethyst Amelia Kelly, changed into a black version of the dress she had worn on the red carpet.
While the second look was still far from conservative, it offered slightly more coverage than her first outfit.
