Jet2 travellers might want to check over the group's baggage rules after the airline addressed a customer enquiry. A passenger contacted the group over social media with a question.
The person explained they had a group booking for 10 passengers, each with 22kg of checked luggage included. Their query was: "If one person is over does all the weight pool together or does everyone individual need to be 22kg?"
Jet2 responded to set the record straight. The provider said: "Yes you are able to pool your luggage providing you do not go over your overall weight limit and no one bag weighs more than 32kg."
The customer followed up with another question, asking: "So one person won't be charged if their case is overweight slightly and the rest are under?" The group confirmed: "That's correct. If one bag is slightly over, but others are under, you will still have room within your overall allowance and will not be charged."
State Pensioners to face major tax change
According to Jet2's website guidance: "Please note that no single item of baggage may weigh more than 32kg. Any baggage that exceeds your total weight allowance will be carried subject to availability and you shall be required to pay an excess baggage fee, if applicable."
Should you have to pay excess baggage charges while abroad, you can typically pay the amount in the local currency using either a credit or debit card. The online guidance confirms: "Please note, all our UK departure airports are cashless meaning only payment by credit card or debit card is permitted.
"If you are planning to travel with excess baggage, please allow extra time to complete the check-in process." This announcement follows Jet2's recent unveiling of many new routes launching from summer 2027.
This includes new connections from UK airports to sought-after Spanish and French holiday spots. The airline currently operates flights from Britain to popular destinations.
You can travel with the group to place such as Alicante, Lanzarote, Krakow, Gran Canaria, Marrakech and Naples.
