More than 100 works by Joan Miró are heading to São Paulo, some never seen in Brazil and some that never left Spain. The Joan Miró show is shaping up as one of the season’s biggest cultural events.

Joan Miró, the Catalan painter and sculptor who died in 1983, is one of the towering figures of twentieth-century modern art, known for his playful shapes, bold colors and dreamlike imagery.

Now a large slice of his work is coming to Brazil.

The Exhibition

Titled Miró: Mestre das Formas, the show opens on August 7 at the MAB FAAP in the Higienópolis district of São Paulo and runs until October 12.
