North Korean leader Kim Jong-un took his daughter to another official appearance as the pair, in matching outfits, observed military drills before the teenager rode a war tank

North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un grinned while he sat on a tank as his teenager daughter drove him on the war machine.

Kim Ju Ae, believed to be around 13, has been pictured more with her father at official events as the unpredictable despot appears to have chosen her as his heir.

The duo were snapped in North Korea's latest display of military strength - a large-scale military drill. The teenage girl's head was seen peering out from the front seat of the massive tank while her dad calmly sat on the war machine. Three other North Korean military officials were also sat on the machine as the teen took them for a spin.

Footage from the state news agency Korean Central News Agency showed the bizarre moment the teenager jumped into the tank's hatchet while her dad leaned against the turret and smiled on the journey.

The dad and daughter duo, who were wearing matching leather jackets and outfits, had been supervising a drill of a new type of tank. This fresh model has more advanced offence and defence capabilities against drones and anti-tanks systems.

The pair also oversaw rocket launches and drones in action among other military demonstrations in Pyongyang, on Thursday. The North Korean state media claimed these weapons and devices were key in the country's military modernisation.

The North Korean training, meanwhile, came as the U.S. and South Korea were engaged in their annual military exercises that North Korea views as an invasion rehearsal.

The U.S. and South Korea wrapped up their 11-day computer-simulated command post exercise on Thursday, but they are still continuing field training.

This is yet another important event that Jong-un has brought his young daughter to. In the footage and images shared online by North Korea, the state media called Ju-ae the dictator's "respected" kid, which is a term reserved for North Korea's most venerated figures, suggesting how important she has become to Kim's strict and barbaric regime.

The teen's existence was discovered when former NBA star, and odd friend of Jong-un, Dennis Rodman publicly revealed the despot had more than one child. Rodman visited Pyongyang in 2013 and afterwards said he enjoyed meeting the daughter and Kim's wife.

At the time, the basketball star told The Guardian: "I held their baby Ju Ae and spoke with (Kim's wife) as well." The daughter made her first public appearance in November 2022, at the launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile.

Just a few months later, the young girl was being featured on postage stamps in North Korea and even attending high level banquets. Since then, the teen accompanied her dad on a rare appearance outside of North Korea to China for a military parade. They were also pictured firing pistols together at a munitions factory's shooting range last week.
