Well, what a day of Test cricket.

Australia had Bangladesh reeling with a brutal barrage with the new ball courtesy of Mitchell Starc's 6-12.

But Bangladesh, after being bowled out for a paltry 64, fired back against Australia's fragile batting line up with a left arm seamer of their own.

A wonderful 6-35 from Shoriful Islam - who also top scored with the bat at number 11, made Australia close on 8-165.

There were 18 wickets to fall in the day's play, the third most in an Australian day of Test cricket since 1975 - it's a throwback to last year's Ashes...

It has not looked a bad pitch, either.

You would rarely say that you would still be in the match after being bowled out for 64, yet Bangladesh are still in this contest.

What a day of cricket.

One last roll of the dice? Can Bangladesh squeeze another wicket out of the day.

Green fends to point and will take a single after a little bit of discussion, Nathan Lyon trotting down to the strikers end and making Green's decision for him.

He is back, everyone. Cameron Green reaches 50 in 80 balls, a very important innings played with consummate skill by the tall all rounder. He's mostly played square either side of the wicket, seeing the ball well and playing with authority for the most part.

Lyon defends. the first few he faces.

Now he drops to a knee and sweeps to backward square leg for no run.

The shadows are really long now, Cam Green's almost stretches to Townsville he's so tall.

There is a shadow where the bowler is releasing the ball out of, into the light where Green is, and he fends the ball back into the shadowlands for a single to long off.

Full toss from Hasan, Starc actually did really well to fend that away at waist height or just under for a single to fine leg.
