Line of Duty is back!

Line Of Duty is back - and further casting has been revealed, including two show villains making their return to the show. Martin Compston, Vicky McClure and Adrian Dunbar had all been previously confirmed to be returning.

It has now been confirmed the entire cast of the BBC show, including Tom Weston-Jones, who will play Detective Inspector Dominic Gough, leader of Tactical Operations Unit 7 (TO-7).

Robert Carlyle will star as Specialist Rifle Officer DC Shaun Massie, whilst - as part of TO-7 - Gavin and Stacey's Laura Aikman will play DC Paula Beckman, Levi Brown from This Town will star as DC Luke Tobin and You's Amy Leigh Hickman will play DC Nira Rashid.

Returning to Line of Duty for series seven will be Mark Bonnar (former Deputy Chief Constable Mike Dryden), Owen Teale (Chief Constable Philip Osborne), Perry Fitzpatrick (DS Chris Lomax) and Christina Chong (DI Nicky Rogerson).

Also joining the show are Motherland's David Calder, Prisoner's Steven Elder, Vigil and Killing Eve star Dominic Mafham, Sarah Andre White from What It Feels Like for A Girl, Aimee Powell from Believe Me and Naomi Yang from Maternal.

Jed Mercurio said: "I'm honoured to be working with our brilliant new cast members, and I know the audience will be thrilled to see some much-loved old faces returning from previous seasons."

Simon Heath, World Productions’ CEO and creative director, added: "We’re delighted to be able to welcome such a great new cast to join so many well-loved actors from the history of the show."

Fans of the BBC show will remember former Deputy Chief Constable of Central Police Mike Dryden from the second series, where he took charge of an investigation into the ambush of DI Lindsay Denton and her colleagues when transferring a prisoner in a convoy. He is currently serving a suspended sentence for perverting the course of justice.

Elsewhere, there will also be a return for corrupt character Chief Constable Philip Osborne, played by Owen Taylor. Fans had long suspected that Osborne might be the mysterious 'H' - but to date, he has got away with his crimes.

Perry Fitzpatrick plays DS Chris Lomax, who played a key role in the series with DCI Joanne Davidson, where Kate was seconded undercover to check if there was any corruption in her team. Christina Chong plays DI Nicky Rogerson, who worked alongside DCS Lester Hargreaves. She was also in a relationship with Steve Arnott, but they have since split.
