Belgium claimed an impressive 2-0 win over Croatia in their penultimate warm-up ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

The Red Devils were knocked out in the group stage in 2022, but raised hopes of an improved performance in the expanded 48-team tournament in North America with their away victory in Rijeka.

Runners-up in 2018 and third-place finishers in 2022, Croatia are not expected to contend to go as far this time around and they fell behind seven minutes before half-time when Youri Tielemans slotted home the opener for Belgium.

Romelu Lukaku scored his 90th goal for Belgium deep into injury time, firing home after a quick Belgium counter as Rudi Garcia’s men made it 12 games unbeaten ahead of their final pre-tournament friendly against Tunisia on Saturday.

Ghana’s final pre-World Cup friendly ended in frustration as they conceded an injury-time equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Wales.

Caleb Yirenkyi struck home the opener on the rebound in the 66th minute after Ernest Nuamah had been denied by Karl Darlow at the end of a fine individual run.

But Ghana were denied a first win under Carlos Queiroz as Lewis Koumas headed in the leveller in the 94th minute.

Elsewhere, Morocco beat 10-man Madagascar 4-0 in Rabat.

Ismael Saibari, reported to have agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich, scored twice in the first half as the North African side signed off in style before they fly out to North America.
