Luke Littler received his MBE at Winsdor Castle last week and had the opportunity to chat with Prince William, who's shown his love for sport by supporting Premier League club Aston Villa

Luke Littler has revealed that he's offered Prince William tickets for this year's PDC World Championship at Alexandra Palace. Littler, 19, met the Prince of Wales at Windsor Castle last week, as the darts wonderkid received his MBE.

Asked about their chat, Littler said William told him that an evening at Ally Pally 'looks like a good night out'. The two-time world champion then told the future king that he'd be welcome at the Worlds.

"Prince William said he's been following the journey and we were just talking about how darts has blown up," Littler explained. "I didn't invite him, but if he needs a few tickets I'm sure myself or the PDC will sort some."

William is an avid football fan and was supporting his beloved Aston Villa when they won the Europa League in Istanbul last week. After Villa thrashed German side Freiburg 3-0, he posted on social media: "Amazing night! Huge congratulations to all the players, team, staff and everyone connected to the club!

"Forty four years since the last taste of European silverware! Special shout-out to Boubacar Kamara who has been out injured but is such an integral part of our team and helped lay the foundations of this success."

Villa defender Matty Cash then revealed: "He was in there having a beer with us. He's just delighted. He's such a big supporter.

"He's always coming to the training ground, always at Villa Park. And he deserves moments like these and hopefully he can let his hair down today."

Whether William will become as passionate about darts remains to be seen. For Littler, the opportunity to chat with him was a 'crazy experience'.

Speaking about receiving his MBE alongside the likes of actress Cynthia Erivo and comedian Matt Lucas, the Warrington native said: "Turning up to Windsor Castle, it was just like, 'how am I here? Why am I here?'

"It was a crazy experience. And then you've just got to think about what I've done for the sport.

"Obviously they don't usually come to people so young, but for what I've done for my sport, it's been incredible and the notice has been fantastic."

Littler's focus will now return to the oche, as he bids to win the Premier League Darts title for the second time in his young career. He'll face Gerwyn Price in the semi-final on Thursday night. The winner will then take on either Jonny Clayton or Luke Humphries.

"If I can make it three finals in a row, I'll be happy, but I'll just try and beat Gezzy first," Littler said. "Some people want to see me against Luke in the final, some people might say it's a bit boring now - Luke and Luke.

"But if we're both winning, if we're both getting to finals, one and two, no-one can do anything about it."
