The Bandar Taluka police arrested a villager, G. Nageswara Rao, who allegedly threatened residents with a country-made weapon in Kona village of Krishna district.
The accused allegedly created panic in the village with the weapon, which is normally used to hunt birds at the fish ponds, Machilipatnam Deputy Superintendent of Police G. Srinivas Rao said.
The accused had brought the country-made gun during a quarrel with his family members on Wednesday (June 3, 2026) and created panic, Bandar Taluka Sub-Inspector K. Kranthi Kumar said.
Acting on a complaint, the police arrested the accused and produced him in court, which remanded him in judicial custody until June 17, Superintendent of Police V. Vidya Sagar Naidu said, adding that the weapon had been seized.
