The Tanuku town police in West Godavari district have traced a minor girl in Vijayawada within 24 hours of her going missing, after she was reportedly scolded by her parents over her performance in the Junior Intermediate examination.

In a release, West Godavari Superintendent of Police Adnan Nayeem Asmi said: “The minor had reportedly left her home in the early hours of August 3 after she was scolded by her parents citing her poor performance in studies.” The parents lodged a complaint with the Tanuku police that their daughter was missing.

“We have traced the minor girl in Vijayawada based on various sources, including CCTV camera surveillance along the routes. The girl has been reunited with her parents on Tuesday (August 4, 2026),” Mr. Nayeem Asmi said.
