Newcastle United have agreed a deal to sign Ivory Coast winger Bazoumana Toure from Hoffenhim.

Toure is set to become Newcastle’s second signing of the summer, with news of his imminent arrival coming shortly after it was reported the Magpies had agreed to sell midfielder Sandro Tonali to Tottenham in a deal worth £100m.

The 20-year-old is set to travel to Tyneside for a medical to complete the transfer, with Newcastle widely reported to have agreed a fee of €50million (£42.8m) with the Bundesliga club.

Toure’s arrival will fill the void left by Anthony Gordon, who joined Barcelona in a €80m (£69.3m) deal in May.

After scoring five goals and providing nine assists for Hoffenheim last season, Toure will be tasked with replacing Gordon’s production on the left wing.

Gordon scored 17 goals, though nine came from the penalty spot, and laid on five assists in all competitions last term.

Newcastle thought they had secured his replacement earlier this month when they seemingly had a deal agreed with Osasuna for Spain international Victor Munoz. However, Premier League rivals Liverpool swooped in to snatch in from their grasp.

Newcastle’s sole signing to this point is France Under-21 goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen, who arrived from Ligue 2 side Reims. They are likely to target another goalkeeper, a replacement for Tonali in midfield and at least one full-back as they revamp the squad following a disappointing 2025-26 season that saw them finish 12th in the Premier League.
