The DA's Gauteng Provincial Leader, Solly Msimanga, announced on Friday morning that he will contest for the party's Federal leader position.

Gauteng DA leader and MPL Solly Msimanga has put up his hand for the DA federal chairperson.

Msimanga announced his leadership ambitions at the Sheraton Hotel in Pretoria with the Union Buildings as a backdrop.

The position is currently held by Ivan Meyer.

Msimanga said he was humbled to accept the nomination.

“When I say I accept this nomination, it is not for prestige or the position it comes with. It is because we intend to occupy that building,” Msimanga said.
