While refusing to stay its March 12 order disqualifying Vellappally Natesan and others from holding posts in the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam, the Kerala High Court on Thursday passed an interim order directing status quo until a new list of directors is compiled.

This followed the State government submitting before the court that a list of new directors has not yet been finalised for the posts that they held. Thursday’s order comes in the wake of Mr. Natesan, who was general secretary of the Yogam, and Tushar Vellappally, vice-president, approaching the court challenging the order that disqualified them from holding the posts in the organisation.

The High Court had disqualified them from the posts following a finding that they acted in violation of the Companies Act, 2013, by failing to file audited accounts of the Yogam for three consecutive years.

The court also further directed the appointment of a new board of directors in the Yogam, on petitions filed by the late literary critic M.K. Sanoo and others, all members of the organisation, alleging non-submission of financial statements of the Yogam for three consecutive years. They had also challenged an order of the IG (Registration) which allowed the two office-bearers and the others to continue in their posts, despite the alleged non-submission of the statements.

The matter was posted for hearing on Monday.
