Former Governor of Reserve Bank of India Raghuram Rajan has underlined the need for youth to hone their skills so that they can secure jobs in several sectors.
The governments on their part should take steps to ensure that there is no scope for absence of nutritious food in their human resource development schemes. Mr. Raghuram Rajan gave several suggestions on the measures that should be taken as part of comprehensive development of the State during a meeting held here on Tuesday (May 05).
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao, ministers and senior officials attended the meeting. The RBI former Governor was particular about the ease of doing business policies that should be adopted as they form the basis for attracting new industries and investments to the State. Focus should be on vigorously promoting startups as it would be more beneficial.
The Chief Minister informed that the State government had resolved to constitute a committee to study the benefits of deployment of Artificial Intelligence in school, technical, higher and medical education. He requested Mr. Rajan to share his ideas in this regard. The Chief Minister informed the noted economist about the steps taken to set up skills university and advanced technology centres for creation of mid-level jobs.
Mr. Raghuram Rajan supported the initiatives claiming the efficient use of AI would be in the larger interests of the country. He suggested that the Telangana follow an industrial model on the lines of Tamil Nadu so that the State could attract more industries and investments. He assured that he would visit the State in the coming months.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka explained about the proactive measures taken by the government for industrial promotion including allotment of land and the required basic amenities. Steps were initiated to enhance power generation to meet the requirements in future while steps were taken to effectively maintain law and order situation.
