Sarah's Trust, the charity belonging to Sarah Ferguson, has been shut and 'removed' from the charity regulator's website

Disgraced Sarah Ferguson has seen her charity wound up after her controversial links to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein emerged.

The former-Duchess's Sarah's Trust charity had introduced philanthropists to good causes in need of funding, but was formally shut last month. It was first registered with the Charity Commission in 2018, but the regulator's website now lists the trust as being "removed", meaning it was no longer a registered charity. Sarah's Trust had also been listed at Companies House as a "charitable incorporated organisation" but its status is now "converted/closed".

Emails released by US officials, as part of the Epstein Files, revealed several emails between Fergie and Epstein and shed new light on their relationship. Ferguson has strongly denied all wrongdoing.

The charity back in February said it would close "for the foreseeable future" just days after new revelations emerged after millions of documents were released in the Epstein Files.

At the time, a spokesperson for the charity said: "Our chair Sarah Ferguson and the board of trustees have agreed that with regret the charity will shortly close for the foreseeable future. This has been under discussion and in train for some months."

One of these included an email between Fergie and Epstein where she praised the sex offender and called him the "brother I have always wished for". Appearing in the Epstein Files does not indicate guilt or wrongdoing.

In another email, from 2010, the ex-Duchess wrote: "You are a legend. I really don't have the words to describe, my love, gratitude for your generosity and kindness," she writes. "Xx I am at your service . Just marry me."

Other publicly released files also showed that Fergie had invited Epstein to her 50th birthday party at St James's Palace in February 2010. This was after Epstein was released from prison in 2009, for soliciting prostitution of a minor.

Other charities associated with the former duchess also cut ties with Ferguson, including the Teenage Cancer Trust, which dropped her as patron after 35 years, Wiltshire and Dorset-based children’s hospice Julia's House, Prevent Breast Cancer, The Natasha Allergy Research Foundation and the National Foundation for Retired Service Animals.

Fergie's ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was stripped of his royal privileges and titles by the King because of "serious lapses of judgment" over his friendship with the late paedophile. Ferguson also lost her courtesy royal divorcee title and went back to her maiden name.
