Telangana Government has assured its full cooperation to the Central Government for the establishment of airport in Adilabad district.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has conveyed the Government’s readiness to support the Union Government in land acquisition, transfer of utilities and other requirements crucial for the proposed airport. The Chief Minister called on Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Monday (June 22, 2026) and thanked him for transferring defence lands for his dream project Gandhi Sarovar Project.
The Chief Minister said the upcoming joint-user aviation facility in Adilabad being developed by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and the Indian Air Force (IAF) concerned with the country’s defence and sovereignty. The State was ready to extend its cooperation for the prestigious project for which the Centre had announced major expansion plans.
Mr. Reddy wanted the Centre to ensure that passenger terminal, MRO (maintenance, repair, overhaul) and other amenities were developed in the proposed airport in addition to the IAF terminal. Recalling the ongoing turmoil in the West Asia, he urged the Centre to take steps to allow reputed global players to set up their hangers in the Adilabad airport.

The Chief Minister requested the Centre to give speedy approvals for the major project proposed by the DRDO/DRDL at Devarakadra in Mahabubnagar district.
