An adult female tiger was found dead in the Atmakur Project Tiger Division on Wednesday.

According to Project Tiger officials, the forest section officer and staff of Guvvala Kunta forest beat found the carcass of the tiger near Isuka Madugu Road in Nandikotkur reserve forest under the Nagaluty Range of Project Tiger Division of Atmakur under the Nagarjunasagar Srisailam Tiger Reserve during routine foot patrolling on Wednesday.

The carcass has been identified as that of an adult female tiger. Post-mortem was performed on Thursday, following the Standard Operating Procedure.

As per the preliminary observations, it was found that the body of the tiger was intact. Further analysis is under progress.
