The whale captured public attention in Germany after being spotted in the Baltic Sea in March, prompting months of rescue efforts.
Teams repeatedly tried to guide the animal back toward the North Sea, including a last-ditch operation in May that transported it by barge.
The whale was later found dead near Anholt in the Kattegat strait between Denmark and Sweden.
Video showed workers towing the whale’s body ashore as onlookers, including children, gathered nearby. Danish authorities say the carcass will be examined to determine the cause of death.
