Minecraft Castle Video GameWorldwide exports of video game consoles and related equipment totaled US$29.2 billion in 2025.
That dollar amount results from an average 7.1% increase for all video games shippers over the five-year period starting in 2021 when exported video games were worth $27.3 billion.
Year over year, international sales of video games accelerated by 43.8% starting from $20.3 billion during 2024.
The 5 biggest sellers of exported video games are mainland China, Vietnam, Japan, Germany and Poland. Collectively, that cohort of major technology suppliers generated almost three-quarters (74.1%) of exported video game sales in 2025.
Among continents, suppliers in Asia sold the highest dollar worth of exported video games during 2025 with shipments valued at $21.6 billion or 73.8% of the global total. In second place were exporters based in Europe at 20.1% while another 5.7% of worldwide shipments of video games originated from providers in North America.
Tinier percentages came from providers of video games located in Oceania (0.3%) mostly Australia and New Zealand, Latin America (0.02%) excluding Mexico but including the Caribbean, then Africa (0.01%).
For research purposes, the 6-digit Harmonized Tariff System code prefix is 950450 for video game consoles and machines.
In addition, gaming equipment operated by any means of payment including coins is distinguished under HTS code 950430. Video games requiring money to play were worth $4.2 billion in 2025, growing by 56.7% since 2021 but slowing to a 4.4% gain from 2024 to 2025.
The top 5 countries selling video game hardware requiring user payment are mainland China (23.4% of the global total), United States of America (14.5%), Austria (7.1%), Australia (6.1%) and Vietnam (5.3%).

Those countries that posted declines in their exported video games sales were: Netherlands (down -31.2% from 2024), United States of America (down -14.8%), Singapore (down -9.5%) and the United Kingdom (down -5.1%).
