Homicide detectives have been working tirelessly for the last 24 hours, investigating the fatal shooting of a teenaged boy who appeared to be walking home after school near the Jane and Finch area of Toronto. On Monday afternoon, 17-year-old Cashie Auguste was shot near the corner of the light rail transit platform on Finch Avenue at Jane Street. The grade 12 student enrolled at C.W. Jefferys Collegiate was believed to have just gotten off the LRT when there was an interaction and he was shot. The teen was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead. As Global’s crime specialist Catherine McDonald reports, this is the second shooting in this community within the span of a week and many residents are concerned that the two incidents may have been related.
