It might not be perfect, but a tower fan is one of the only ways to help keep the heat down in UK homes during the heatwave. And finding one that’s tall enough to reach up and over your bed is even better, as it helps make your bedroom a little more bearable whilst trying to sleep in the soaring temperatures.
One great deal we’ve spotted is this Pelonis 30-Inch Advanced Bladeless Tower Fan which you can pick up on sale at Amazon right now, where it’s down from £79.99 to £69.99. Measuring 30 inches high, it’s ideal for reaching up and over your bed to make sure you stay cool all night, and it has a quiet setting which means it won’t interrupt your sleep.

The fan has already been designed with a quiet, bladeless design (which also keeps pets and children safe around it). But the Sleep mode has a “powerful yet silent airflow that won't interrupt your sleep or focus” so you can sleep through the night without being woken up by either the heat or the noise.
The Pelonis 30-Inch Bladeless Tower Fan also has a seven hour timer and two other cooling modes alongside the sleep setting, so you can customise how much airflow you need. It also runs with level one energy-efficiency which means it won’t cost you as much as running some other fans or an air con unit.
It also operates via remote control, so you can change the settings without having to get up or out of bed, and has a 60 degree oscillation to make sure you get airflow throughout your whole room. The Pelonis 30-Inch Bladeless Tower Fan also has a tall, slimline design which makes it ideal for tucking into corners without being obtrusive.
You can pick up a similar design at Wayfair, where the Dimplex Tower Fan with LED Display, Sleep Timer and Remote Control is £69.99. This also features three settings and smooth oscillation, as well as a longer 12 hour timer that’s great for overnight.
Alternatively, the Shark TurboBlade Multi-Directional Cooling Fan is £250 and can be adjusted and switched up to suit all set ups. There are 10 speed settings, an adjustable tilt and oscillation, and it can be easily moved from room to room to suit your needs.
However at Amazon, the Pelonis 30-Inch Bladeless Tower Fan has been well-praised by shoppers who’ve found it very effective, especially at night. One said: “Very nice fan, simple to operate and works well, very quiet and easy to move around.”
Another wrote: “Very well made, tall, decent fan. Very quiet setting for night which was brilliant. It's cooler than other fans which is a huge bonus. Bit pricey but can't afford proper air conditioning.”
Whilst a third said: “Very happy with this tower fan! It has lots of useful features and, best of all, it's very quiet. I have another fan that is much noisier, so this one is a huge improvement. It works great, and I'm very pleased with my purchase so far. Highly recommend!”
One did write, however: “It’s ok. There’s nothing especially good or bad about it. It’s tall and powerful and the remote works well. The noise level seems ok. What would I change? The remote isn’t magnetic so doesn’t attach to the fan (like Dyson) and there’s nowhere on the fan to store the remote (small thing - massive benefit). The stability could be better - the fan is easily knocked over. Value for money? Probably a bit expensive for what it is.”
