At an announcement on healthcare affordability in the Oval Office on Monday, U.S. President Donald Trump answered questions on the Iran war after strikes were exchanged for the first time in a month. “They’re a failed nation. They’ve got 350 per cent inflation. They have no currency. They’re not paying their soldiers,” Trump said. “Their leaders are largely dead. Their navy is gone. Their air force is gone. Their surveillance equipment is almost entirely gone - that doesn't mean we won't smack them. We'll see what happens," he added. When asked for his insider view on who’s managing negotiations on behalf of the Iranians, Trump said, “they don’t know who the leader is,” and ruled out using a nuclear weapon on Iran.
