Maycee Barber was badly knocked out by Alexa Grasso on Saturday night and lay motionless on the canvas until she was treated by medics

UFC star Maycee Barber has revealed she remembers little from her brutal KO defeat by Alexa Grasso.

Barber was knocked out cold inside a minute at UFC Fight Night 271 on Saturday night and lay motionless on the canvas. She was treated by medics before regaining consciousness and being taken straight to hospital. But flyweight Barber has now taken to social media to reassure her fans, while admitting she looked as if she had died in the cage.

"I wanted to come on here and say thank you to the UFC, thank you to Alexa for the opportunity," she wrote. "I wanted to go out there and get my opportunity to get my rematch, and dominate, and get the win back. Unfortunately, that was not the night. I got caught. Alexa did an amazing thing, she's a phenomenal fighter.

"I don't really remember a whole lot. All I know is that every time I go on social media, I look like I'm dead. And that's not a very fun thing to stay, so I'm trying to stay off social media. But I wanted to come on here and at least tell you guys that I am okay, and I will be back. God is good, all of the time. On the highs on the lows, he's good all the time, and he'll continue to be good.

"Thank you guys for the love and support. I know I've gotten a lot of texts and messages and everything. I've not responded to you all and I'm very sorry about that - it's very hard because I don't remember a whole lot."

Grasso, meanwhile, snapped a two-fight losing streak with her victory, and said: '"Of course it's always hard to have two losses in a row. I've never experienced that before, but injuries are part of the journey. But healthy Alexa is very different than Alexa with injuries. I'm super happy that all my injuries healed and I'm better. I'm back.

"I trained so well this fight camp. It was very, very tough. It was very hard. I wanted to get the finish. Of course my jiu-jitsu game was the first point I wanted. I wanted to finish her, but of course my boxing is always there and I'm super glad it worked."
