A British tourist says he was drugged, assaulted, and robbed of £1,800 while travelling alone abroad. Jamie Lathan said the ordeal unfolded after a night out at a nightclub.

The 36-year-old rigger, from England, alleges he met an Indonesian woman who bought him multiple drinks before he began feeling unwell. Jamie believes his drinks were spiked before he was attacked.

He said he was struck from the side before being taken outside, where he alleges other people were waiting. Jamie claims the woman then persuaded him to get on the back of a motorbike and took him home.

"I was falling asleep on the bike," he said. "When we got back to mine, I woke up fully clothed."

Jamie says that £1,800 had been taken from his bag. He estimates that around four hours passed before he completely lost consciousness. When he eventually woke up, he said he felt disoriented and unwell.

"It was the worst feeling of my life knowing I was on my own and couldn't do anything because I'd been spiked," he said. The incident occurred on 9 May in Bali.

Jamie visited the hospital the following day. The attack left him with two head wounds requiring 16 stitches in one cut and a further seven stitches above his eyebrow.

Jamie said he did not report the incident to police but returned to the nightclub the next day in an attempt to obtain CCTV footage. He alleges the staff refused to provide it and said his hotel receptionist attempted to help, but he has received no response since.

"I've heard nothing from anyone, not even a sorry," he said. The incident happened at La Covida nightclub in Denpasar, Bali. Jamie says the experience has affected his confidence when travelling alone. "It affected me travelling on my own," he added.

He said his family and friends back home were left deeply worried after hearing what had happened during his solo trip.
