President Donald Trump said Monday that the United States moved all of its long-range bombers out of the United Kingdom in response to "a threat."
Trump, when asked who made the threat, replied, "They would be linked to Iran."
"Why would I leave them there?" Trump told reporters at the White House. "It costs very little money to move them."
The Associated Press on Sunday reported that the U.S. Air Force withdrew all of its B-1 bombers stationed at an air base in southern England, RAF Fairford, after a probe uncovered a planned terror attack. Those aircraft have been used in strikes on Iran.
The AP reported that the bombers were redeployed to their home bases in the United States.
