Most of Alberta and some communities in neighbouring provinces are experiencing poor air quality Tuesday night – all stemming from wildfires burning in Saskatchewan and the Northwest Territories. It was a scary night for some residents in northern areas as out-of-control wildfires came dangerously close, after burning just seven kilometres west of Fort Simpson. The fire grew to an estimated whopping 10,000 hectares before a well-timed shift in the wind may have saved the community.
