Spider-Man: Brand New Day stars Zendaya, Tom Holland and Jacob Batalon surprised youngster Oliver on The One Show

Spider-Man: Brand New Day star Zendaya fought back tears as she surprised a young The One Show guest.

On Thursday's show, hosts Alex Jones and Clara Amfo revealed that they had enlisted Zendaya, Tom Holland and Jacob Batalon to surprise youngster Oliver after running the equivalent of nine marathons in four months to raise money for charity following his father's brain tumour diagnosis.

Oliver, from Barnsley, was just eight when his dad, 39, was diagnosed with a 4cm meningioma tumour, which was discovered after he lost nearly all of his vision in one eye.

With his fundraising run challenge to earn money for The Brain Tumour Charity, Oliver has raised more than £16,500 to help ensure other families facing a brain tumour diagnosis receive the same vital support and hope.

As part of the show's One Big Thank You surprise, Spider-Man superfan Oliver thought he was in London for an interview to talk about raising money for charity but in fact the cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day were in the room to surprise him.

Tom, 30, said: "That’s so cool that at such a young age you had all that drive and passion to save your dad", he added: "We actually knew that you were coming here.

"We've come here today especially to see you because on behalf of The One Show, we would like to give you One Big Thank You!", revealing they had another surprise for him.

They then played an emotional video montage of all Oliver's friends, family, charity members and some famous faces thanking the youngster for his hard work.

Oliver broke down over the surprise video message to which Zendaya was seen fighting back tears herself over the sweet moment with Tom also looking visibly moved.

Zendaya then gushed: "Oh gosh! I hope those are happy tears?" to which Oliver confirmed they were, adding: "Thank you" to the cast.

The crew then had one more surprise for Oliver revealing he was invited to the London premiere of the Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie.

They sweetly said they needed a "real hero" and they'd see him on the red carpet before hugging him goodbye.
