The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), a scientific society under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), on Tuesday (March 17), unveiled a suite of advanced digital platforms and intelligent systems spanning cybersecurity, healthcare, industrial automation, environmental monitoring, and digital governance, along with several cloud-based products.

Celebrating its 39th Foundation Dayat CSIR–Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIR-IICT), with a special emphasis on indigenising future technologies, the institute also formalised multiple strategic collaborations with academic institutions, research organisations, and industry partners across the country.

These partnerships aim to accelerate innovation, commercialisation, and capacity building in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, smart cities, healthcare technologies, advanced computing, and climate solutions, according to Director General of C-DAC E. Magesh.

Former Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chairman S. Somanath congratulated C-DAC for its “phenomenal work” in critical technological areas, including advanced computing, cybersecurity, and space technologies. Emphasising that the need of the hour was to realign with emerging trends, he called for stronger industry collaboration and a renewed focus on digital self-reliance.

In his online address, MeitY Secretary S. Krishnan said C-DAC had consistently delivered impactful achievements across advanced computing missions. CSIR-IICT Director D. Srinivasa Reddy, Tata Electronics CEO and Managing Director Randhir Thakur, and others were present at the event.

A technology showcase exhibition was also inaugurated, where C-DAC’s R&D teams demonstrated a range of innovative products and solutions. The two-day event is expected to serve as an important platform for knowledge exchange, innovation, and strategic discussions on advancing India’s indigenous technology ecosystem. On Wednesday, a series of expert sessions on advanced and emerging technologies are planned. The event is open to researchers, working professionals, and engineering students, according to a press release.
