Muth village in Maharashtra’s Sindhudurg becomes the first village to complete the self-enumeration process under the ongoing campaign ahead of Census 2027.
Muth village has a total of 36 houses and 43 families, with a population of 144. All families in the village participated in the self-enumeration process and submitted accurate information.
The coordination between the administration and the citizens led to the success of the process. Chief Principal Census Officer Nirupama J. Dange has appealed to other villages in the State to take inspiration from this village. Collector Tripti Dhodmise through the active participation of the local administration and citizens, implemented the process.

The self-enumeration process as part of the first phase of Census 2027 was initiated in the State on May 1 and will end on May 15. Thereafter, housing census will start from May 16 and continue till June 14.
Tehsildar Omkar Otari, Naib Tehsildar, Circle Officer, and all Talathis (village revenue officers) played a significant role in the campaign to execute the process in a timely manner.
