Former Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president and Congress Working Committee Member Gidugu Rudra Raju on Monday demanded the constitution of an expert committee without those associated with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for a comprehensive education policy by replacing the New Education Policy 2020 for reforms in the education system.

Mr. Raju has alleged that as many as 152 incidents of paper leaks of various competitive examinations, including NEET and CBSE, were reported during the twelve-year rule by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) and National Testing Agency (NTA) and the Vice-Chancellors of many premier universities are being led by RSS members. The future of these bodies and institutions will be in question without a comprehensive educational policy to be drafted by an independent body,” Mr. Raju said.

On students’ protests at the Jantar Mantar, Mr. Raju has said that the families of 22 NEET aspirants who ended their lives after the question paper leak should be given compensation on a war-foot base. Mr. Reddy has demanded a government job for the family of each of the 22 students who ended their lives after the NEET paper leak.

Mr. Reddy has lamented that the PM should be held responsible for whatever harm is done to the country, as none of the ministries is allowed to function on its own.
