Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar is expected to arrive in Chennai on Tuesday morning, as officials are planning arrangements for the swearing-in ceremony of the newly-elected government. However, he is likely to return to Thiruvananthapuram on the same day.
Senior officials of the State government and police authorities are likely to discuss the final results of the election at the Secretariat on Tuesday morning. The date and venue of the swearing-in ceremony are expected to be finalized soon. Going by the convention, the Public (Elections) Department will hand over the official results of the April 23 Assembly election to the Governor’s office and intimate the dissolving of the 16th Legislative Assembly and the constitution of the 17th Legislative Assembly.
