Dramatic scenes unfolded in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday after Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi made derogatory comment against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with the BJP defending the Prime Minister, saying that he can never be compromised.
While speaking during a discussion in Parliament, Rahul Gandhi said that on the previous occasion when he spoke in the House, he tried to raise what he described as a “fundamental question" regarding alleged compromises made by the Prime Minister.
According to him, he was stopped from continuing the discussion after raising issues related to former Army chief General MM Naravane and financier Jeffrey Epstein. He further claimed that it was the first time that the Leader of Opposition had not been allowed to speak in the Lok Sabha.
“Every time we get up to speak, we are stopped from speaking. The last time I spoke, I raised a fundamental question about the compromises made by our PM…" he said as quoted by news agency ANI.

Responding to Rahul Gandhi’s remarks, BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad rejected the allegation and defended PM Modi.
“I would like to remind the Leader of Opposition that the Prime Minister of India can never be compromised," Prasad said during his reply in the House.
Rahul Gandhi also alleged that had repeatedly been stopped from speaking in the House, raising concerns about the functioning of the democratic process and the role of the Speaker.
He further said that the Lok Sabha represents the voice of the people of India and not just one political party. He also alleged that members of the Opposition were being prevented from expressing their views.
“The discussion here is about the democratic process and the role of the Speaker. Multiple times my name has been raised and wild things have been said about me. This House is the expression of the people of India. It does not represent one party but the whole country," he said.
The debate is taking place during the ongoing Budget Session of the Parliament, which began on January 28. The first phase concluded on February 13, while the second phase will continue until April 2.
