Ashraf registered a resounding victory in the Manjeswaram Assembly constituency, defeating the Bharatiya Janata Party’s K. Surendran by a margin of 29,252 votes.
Mr. Ashraf secured 96,948 votes against Mr. Surendran’s 67,696, while LDF candidate K.R. Jayananda secured 21, 212 votes. Mr. Ashraf had won the 2021 elections by a narrow margin of 754 votes.
