PROTECT YOURSELF with Orgo-Life® QUANTUM TECHNOLOGY
Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayKeith Marshall, the owner of Kumo Cycles in Australia, just shared details on a new prototype he’s calling the Overlander. Packed with stunning details, the Overlander was designed for riding in Australia’s wildest places. Find photos and details here…
Kumo Cycles is a one-person framebuilding operation run by Keith Marshall in rural Braidwood, Australia. The workshop runs 100% off-grid on solar power. Kumo primarily offers one-of-a-kind custom frames, but it also has a production model, the RADdonneur, to serve as a starting place for semi-custom builds. Keith’s latest creation is a prototype that may eventually become the second production model, but for now, it’s a fully custom platform.
The idea for the Kumo Overlander was born in 2017, when Keith was riding deep in the Tantangara Wilderness in Kosciuszko National Park. A stick jumped up and destroyed his rear derailleur, and on the ride home, he started thinking about what his ideal touring rig might look like. The result is the most MTB-style geometry of any of his bikes to date, built up around a Pinion gearbox, a dropper post, a rigid fork, and 29 x 2.4″ tires.
The eye-catching bronze-to-off-white fade paint job was done by Keith in his workshop, and if you look closely, there is a subtle splatter effect on the off-white bits. The Simworks bronze Standalone rims, Bubbly pedals, and custom Sinewave bronze light were chosen to match the paint job. Keith plans to ride the Overlander prototype at the Hunt 1000, the Attack of the Buns route in Southern Australia, and on other local adventures.
Keith clearly has an appreciation for the details, evident in the slick internal dynamo routing, the custom fork, that wild stem, the custom front rack, and the faded bottle cage to match the frame. The Overlander is a rideable piece of art! His build features a dynamo hub, Growtac Equal brakes, and Teravail Camrock tires.
