A peek inside past issues
The Bikepacking Journal 17
Our latest edition brings together a thoughtfully curated collection of stories, essays, photography, and art that capture the many sides of bikepacking—from high-alpine adventures in far-flung corners of the world to remote deserts and quiet backroads close to home. It celebrates creativity, exploration, and the people and places that make bicycle travel so compelling. Even better, issue 17 memorializes the art of making things by hand, with an original illustrated cover, hand-drawn maps, and a poster-sized print created by some incredibly talented humans.
As always, our twice-yearly issues showcase the year’s most engaging essays and immersive narratives; you never know what to expect when flipping the page to the next piece. You’ll find stories from Greenland, Japan, California, Bolivia, Albania, New Mexico, Italy, New Zealand, and beyond. The complete collection of stories is available only in print, and after Saturday’s deadline, you won’t be able to get a copy of our 17th issue. We take great pride in this project, and we produce the Journal at a world-class printer using premium paper and ink. We’re sure you’ll want to display it proudly on your coffee table or bookshelf for years to come.
Fresh Prize Packages
Among the 20 impressive prize packages worth a whopping $12,000+ in this round of Collective Rewards are a complete Sklar PBJ Dream Build, a set of Paul Klamper brakes, a trip for two on the San Juan Huts System, White Industries cranks, Mini Panniers from San Util Design, a Tumbleweed Macro Pannier Rack, bags from Revelate Designs and Old Man Mountain, and many others.

If all that’s not enticing enough, we also offer the most expansive discount program in all of cycling, and our members can save real money on a wide variety of products and services from more than 110 of the top brands throughout the bikepacking world. Everyone in the Bikepacking Collective has access to exclusive savings (around 20 percent on average) from an ever-growing list of companies that currently includes Big Agnes, Cane Creek, Hyperlite Mountain Gear, Ortlieb USA, Paul Component Engineering, PNW, Revelate Designs, Rockgeist, Sour Bicycles, Teravail, Velo Orange, White Industries, WTB, and many others.

Basecamp features three modules: Bike Camp Co-op, enabling members to buy, sell, and trade gear with like-minded folks around the world; Ride Rendezvous, through which members can organize outings and find riding buddies; and Ask the Experts, allowing members to pose burning questions to our team and the broader group.
