Weighing just 58 grams, the new KNIPEX TwinGrip XS could be a great tool for tackling stubborn bolts and unexpected trailside repairs. Find out why it caught our attention as a potential addition to the bikepacking tool roll here…

For the last few years, I’ve carried a small KNIPEX Pliers Wrench Cobra XS in my tool roll, which effectively replaces open-ended wrenches and a Leatherman-style tool. Today, the new KNIPEX TwinGrip XS caught my eye. It’s a miniaturized, remarkably compact version of the brand’s popular TwinGrip pliers, and it looks like an intriguing addition to a bikepacking repair kit.

Designed to grip, tighten, and loosen stubborn fasteners, the TwinGrip XS features both front and side gripping jaws. The brand claims it can get a solid purchase on worn or rounded bolts, stripped screw heads, and other small components. Its slim head lets you reach tight spaces, while hardened, aggressively toothed jaws provide plenty of bite for unexpected trailside repairs.

The TwinGrip XS has a few clever details, including a two-position adjustment, a sturdy box-joint design, and textured handles. The front jaws accommodate bolt heads or other fasteners with diameters from 2 to 12mm, while the side jaws can handle round objects up to 12mm and hex heads up to 10mm. At only 100mm long and 58 grams, the TwinGrip XS could be a valuable backup for dealing with damaged bolts or other weird mechanical surprises far from home.

KNIPEX has not yet announced an official retail price in US dollars for the new TwinGrip XS (model 82 00 100), as it’s scheduled for a global launch in mid-October 2026 and is still rolling out to distributors. Learn more about the KNIPEX TwinGrip XS over at Knipex.com.
