West Coast wins its first match since round 11 last year after overcoming a 30-point deficit against North Melbourne, snapping a 14-match losing streak.

Earlier on Sunday, Port Adelaide captain Connor Rozee left the ground in the third quarter of his side's 63-point win over Essendon at the Adelaide Oval after suffering a serious hamstring injury in his left leg.

Rozee's injury put the spotlight on the AFL's rule changes with former Port Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley suggesting the changes were behind a spate of soft-tissue injuries around the league.

FT: West Coast 17.9 (111) defeats North Melbourne 15.4 (94)

WEST COAST ENDS A 14-GAME LOSING STREAK WITH A TERRIFIC COMEBACK WIN!

It's their first win since Round 11 last year and after what was a quite miserable one-win season in 2025, that has GOT to feel good for the Eagles!

It looked like they were on their way to another nightmare result in the first quarter, but my goodness, how well did they respond?!

It's a 308-day gap between drinks for Andrew McQualter and his team.

North Melbourne will be bitterly disappointed with that result.

After all the progress they made last week, it'll feel like they've taken a step back today.

Reid wins a free kick with a minute to go

Harley Reid wins a free kick on the wing, and I reckon this one is just about done!

There are less than 50 seconds left on the clock and the Eagles lead by three goals.

What a win this is going to be!

Darling's goal chalked off after a free kick

Jack Darling thinks he's dribbled one home for a split second, but the umpire blows the whistle.

It's a free kick for a push in the back to Reuben Ginbey.

West Coast are almost there. They're two minutes away!

Into the last three minutes of play

West Coast now playing a bit of a keepings-off footy.

We're into the last three minutes in WA. Can they hold on?

The clock becoming North's enemy slowly, but surely.

Konstanty keeps the Kangaroos alive

Hang on, hang on. We're not done just yet!

Jacob Konstanty kicks one on the run from an acute angle after a terrific defensive effort to force a turnover.

Eagles by 17 with 4.36 left in the game.

Murdock snaps through the potential sealer

FORZA MILANNNNNNNN!!!!

Murdock snaps up the loose ball in the pocket and drills a snap on his left boot and is that the game?!

West Coast with a 23-point lead with 5.29 left on the clock.

Another nine forward half intercepts from the Eagles in the last 10 minutes.

Waterman hits the post with snap in traffic!

Jake Waterman flings his head back in anguish!

He's come within inches of potentially kicking the sealer with a snap in heavy traffic, but the ball juuuuust scrapes the left-hand goal post.

We're into the final 10 minutes in Perth

West Coast leading by 16 points as we head into the second half of the final term.

It's still way too early to play keepings-off footy here. West Coast must continue to play with good pace and intent.

Waterman steadies Eagles as Cripps battles shoulder pain

Jake Waterman drills a crucial set shot from 40m out on a slight angle to give the Eagles some breathing space!

It was a hacked kick forward but Waterman read the flight of the ball better than anyone, taking a diving mark on a lead.

Jamie Cripps has come off the ground after hurting his shoulder in a tackle a few minutes earlier. He looks like he's in incredible pain, but he's going to want to get back out there, no doubt.

Larkey kicks another one to draw Roos closer!

NICK LARKEY HAS PUT HIS BIG BOY PANTS ON!

Another towering mark inside 50 from the North skipper, this time just a couple of metres out from goal.

He read the flight of that ball beautifully to edge his defender under the footy.

Larkey's got six and the Kangaroos now most certainly have a sniff.

Larkey drills his fifth as the Kangaroos continue charge

Nick Larkey is single-handedly keeping the Kangaroos in this!

After a miss from a similar range earlier in the quarter, Larkey makes the necessary adjustment on the set shot to drill his fifth goal for the match.

A lovely kick inside 50 from Paul Curtis that found him in the pocket.

McDonald gives Roos a glimmer to start the fourth

Luke McDonald with a crucial goal after the Kangaroos are awarded a 50m penalty.

McDonald roars and tries to pump up his teammates amid boos from the fans inside the stadium. Tells you a lot about what they thought of the umpire's decision there.

Still plenty of time for North to pull this one out!

3QT: West Coast 15.7 (97) leads North Melbourne 10.1 (67)

ELLIOT YEO FROM ACTUAL NEWNES TERRITORY! AND WE'VE GOT A SCRAP AFTER THE SIREN!

Holy smokes. West Coast has caught fire like nothing else here!

Elliot Yeo gets coathangered by Charlie Comben on the siren and then goes back and drills it from outside the boundary line.

Harley Reid comes in to yap to Comben after the goal and Comben pushes him in the neck and Harley flops a little bit.

The Eagles get in the face of the Kangaroos after the goal and my goodness, what a turnaround this has been. It's a 60-point turnaround after the Roos led by five goals in the first quarter.

West Coast with 8.1 to 2.0 for the quarter and they've played some absolutely irresistible football out there.

The Eagles are down 37-30 in the clearances, but they're smashing the Roos around the ground and its led to an inside 50 dominance of 47-32.

Reid leads all Eagles with 21 disposals, and watch out if he kicks a goal because I reckon he'll be telling a few blokes about it.

Flynn with a sidestep and then a banana

MATT FLYNN JOGA BONITO!

Nah listen, ruckmen aren't supposed to do this.

Flynn sends his nearest defender to the shops with a ball fake and sidestep and then rips out the banana.

West Coast out to its game-high lead of 24 points.

Shanahan keeps Roos at bay with an incredible finish

These Eagles talls are incredibly, incredibly exciting!

We've had CDT and Archer Reid have their moments today, now Jobe Shanahan chimes in!

Cripps finds him with a lovely short kick inside 50 and Shanahan goes back and calmly slots the set shot from Jack Newnes territory (real niche reference there).

West Coast with 6.1 to 2.0 for this quarter. It's basically been a repeat of the second but with better conversion.

Dovaston stems the tide with his first goal

Lachy Dovaston is on the board, and what a time to do it!

The damaging small forward has officially opened his account with a terrific snap, and boy did the Roos need that or what?

West Coast only leads by 11 points, but it feels like so much more, given the momentum they've got.

The Eagles are absolutely running riot in the third

Elliot Yeo is up and about like it's freaking 2018 out here!

Duff-Tytler is causing North's defence fits every time the ball goes forward, and he once again whips a ball off his shoelaces, this time to Yeo, who snaps one through.

Yeo and Cripps with the last two goals. It might as well be 2018.

West Coast with four goals in seven inside 50 entries for the quarter.

Meanwhile, CDT has an equal-game-high five score involvements.

Duff-Tytler gets Eagles off to a flyer in the third quarter

Cooper Duff-Tytler, my goodness. This guy is going to be a monster in a couple of years!

He rises up and tears down a big contested grab and then goes back and kicks his second.

Then a few moments later, he's there picking up a ground ball and dishes off to Jamie Cripps for another goal.

West Coast in front for the first time since the opening minutes!

HT: North Melbourne 9.1 (55) leads West Coast 7.6 (48)

A bit of smack talk happening between Harley Reid and Cam Zurhaar as we come to the end of a very, very entertaining first half!

It looked as though the Kangaroos were well on their way to recording another huge win, but they've been pegged back in sensational fashion by the Eagles.

West Coast kicked 4.5 to 2.0 for the quarter, and will feel like they were good enough to have hit the lead.

Reid has been very active out there. He's got 16 disposals, two clearances, two inside 50s and two score involvements.

Harry Sheezel continues to get absurd amounts of the footy. He's up to 27 touches and six clearances at the half.

West Coast goes into the half leading the inside 50s 29-22, while North leads the clearance 24-17.

Larkey with four goals in the first half, while Archer Reid, Zurhaar and Jamie Cripps all have two goals apiece.
