New details have emerged about a devastating house fire that sent several Brisbane streets into lockdown with revelations the victims are a family already synonymous with tragedy.

One of three destroyed homes in Clontarf belongs to the parents of murdered teenager Angus Beaumont and in a cruel twist, the alleged arsonist and attempted murderer is a member of their own family.

It’s been six years since the Beaumont family had their lives forever changed.

The 15-year-old was stabbed to death by teenagers in a Redcliffe carpark in 2020.

Yesterday the family’s home erupted into flames in an alleged domestic violence arson attack.

Family member Mandy Beaumont said online it “looks like they’ve lost everything” adding “this on top of this is just too much”.

She said on a fundraising page it was an “arson attack while they were in the house”.

The blaze spread to two neighbouring homes with all three destroyed.

The massive inferno forced streets to be evacuated.

The alleged offender was taken into custody after being tracked down by the police dog squad.

Corey Wardle, Angus’ half brother who runs a local yard maintenance business, is accused of dousing the family home with jerry cans of accelerant and setting it alight.

Those inside are understood to have made several Triple Zero calls for help, over four hours in the lead-up.

The family was forced to leave almost everything behind, in a race against time to flee the home, as the inferno took hold.

The fire quickly spread to other homes.

The alleged attack could be domestic violence related, police believe. Nine

9News understands they managed to save one irreplaceable item, the urn containing Angus’s ashes.

Wardle will face Redcliffe Magistrates Court on a domestic violence arson charge and three counts of three counts of domestic violence attempted murder tomorrow.
