The culmination of Canada’s biggest week in music, the 55th annual Juno Awards promises plenty of excitement — including a tribute to Nelly Furtado and performances by Arkells, The Beaches and Daniel Caesar. Even Prime Minister Mark Carney is expected to be at the TD Coliseum in Hamilton.

If past Juno Awards are any indication, expect to see strong support for Canadian designers and brands on the red carpet, along with bold, personal sartorial statements from artists like Alessia Cara, Tanya Tagaq and Jully Black.

SadBoi

Ebhoni Jade Cato-O'Garro, known as SadBoi, won a Juno Saturday night for rap album/EP of the year. On today’s orange carpet, she wore a custom look by Canadian stylist Marc Andrew Smith, paired with Alexis Bittar jewelry.

Yves Jarvis

Alternative album of the year nominee Jean-Sébastien Yves Audet, known professionally as Yves Jarvis, wore the same mixed-pattern tailored suiting with Gucci hiking shoes at last night’s gala and again on the orange carpet this evening.

Tanika Charles

Charles, nominated this year for traditional R&B/soul recording of the year, stood out in a bold black-and-white leopard-print gown, paired with bright pink earrings.

Tia Wood

Nominated for contemporary Indigenous artist or group of the year, the Cree and Salish singer-songwriter stepped out in a stunning all-red ensemble styled by Jason Pillay. From the back, the sculptural top of her Heather Bouchier gown forms a rosette, like a flower in bloom. The jewelry is by Helen Oro Designs.

Raf-Saperra

Adeel Sardar Khan, known as Raf-Saperra, wore a black-and-red look featuring a cropped quilted jacket, voluminous wide-leg trousers and a black fur hat. The rapper and singer is nominated this year for South Asian music recording of the year. 

Nelly Furtado

Furtado, who will be honoured this evening with an induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, wore a strapless brocade gown by Canadian designer ​Lesley​ Hampton, paired with Alexis Bittar jewelry.

Sofia Camara

A nominee for breakthrough artist or group of the year category, Camara wore an oversized pinstripe suit by Canadian label RW & Co., styled with a necktie and wallet chain.

Kardinal Offishall
