For a record fourth year in a row, OUTsurance won the News24 Short-Term Insurer of the Year award.

The company again achieved high marks in a survey of more than 13 000 News24 readers, with almost 60% of the clients who participated giving it a perfect score for client service.

It also scored well, again, when the News24 team judged how easy it was to understand its cover and claims processes, and for its transparency in dealing with the media. It further impressed with its complaints process, as was evident from the National Financial Ombud’s data.

At a gala event in Cape Town on Thursday evening, OUTsurance CEO Danie Matthee praised the 6 000 staff member and clients who helped to build the brand.

Matthee won the News24 CEO of the Year award in 2025.

OUTsurance was founded in 1998. In South Africa, the group offers car, home, business, life, funeral and pet insurance, while it also has insurance businesses in Australia and Ireland.

The awards function was sponsored by Uber.
